I'm thinking I agree with you. People are more and more apathetic about church attendance as evidenced by lots of empty spaces in the pews. I know that we can become legalistic about church attendance, but I just really love to be with the body of Christ.

I realize the need to go outside the walls of the church, and I have a great burden and desire to do that, but we were told in Hebrews 10 (NASB) . . .

"24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds 25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging {one another;} and all the more as you see the day drawing near."

If God's Word says it . . . . hmmmmm. He must have had something in mind there. I'm just saying.

I appreciate your ind thoughts and comments Kathy. God used this to my benefit. He taught me that we have to be so careful to be inclusive and outgoing towards others. We never know the pain that we can inflict on people by a lack of communication or outstretched hand to them. Thanks again for your apologies, but no apology needed. You were one of the few who did take time to meet me and get to know me, so I say "thank you."

Michael,
I found this blog as I was looking for you on facebook. I feel very ashamed that as a mom of this group you were made to feel so shunned. I believe most of the moms would feel this way. It can feel very clicky at times. I always thought it was just the group was a group of busy parents that during this time of getting kids to classes or getting themselves to classes parents would escape to their corner or friends for some respite. I know that is an excuse. I do want to apologize.
At skate day, this is a different group of parents. It is organized by NACHO. There are a lot of the same parents from our homeschool group but other ones who would not know your face. Still as a chritian group of parents we should we should not be so quick to judge someone who looks different or we do not know. Please forgive me for not engaging you more. Thanks for sharing. I will be more aware of others in the future.

I think this is more of a people problem. This has happened to me across the board. Homeschooling,Public school, Private school (not so much) , churches. We as a people tend to think whatever we are engaged in is the best way. There tends to be no space for God to speak to families in different ways. For some reason we expect all of us to be singing the same tune. God is an amazing God and He is in the foreign fields, all sorts of different schools, and churches where believers are gathered. How about that for a soapbox! :)

WOW! That was a good read. Thank you for sharing that. It is something we all need to reflect on when we see someone "different" than ourselves.

I am doing good despite this little bump in the road. I guess I was just really disappointed when these people whom I had done school with for 2 years did not even know who I was and were so judgmental. They did not even take the time to get to meet me and know me.

It is not always easy to keep our motive pure. That tends to be a problem. Hang in there Michael!
